Does the spray foam have a hose that you could extend into the channel, then withdraw as you spray? It might be worth drilling one bigger hole to facilitate that

Im sure I could add one. I use the commercial gun so it doesn't have the "straw".
Any thoughts as to how many holes would be an issue? Those channels are all of the structure.
Hrm. That I wouldn't hazard a guess at. How many holes are already there? Is there a convenient one near the top or bottom you could just make a bit bigger?
Top of the channel is open (but hard to access). No other holes.
I might have to trade some backcountry access in the kristi for a nights lodging in this! I like how committed you are to the ultimate ski mobile. we all love mountain towns and all the winter night life but who can afford staying there??? this is very cool and useful. even more so for backcountry trips. keep up the good work man

Yeah I'm really stoked with this truck. I have a lot of work to do still. I'm out of funds for the time being.
But can seal should be here Wednesday, and then I can start cutting....

Just for clarity, here is the wall section. I am taking about filling the hollow area.
My door showed up, but the UPS guys had their way with it :mad:, edges are good and dented in a few places....
Picked up a used inverter/charger as well, only 1250 watts, but should run a microwave (i hope!). Charges at 55 amps, a bit slow there as well, but the price was right. Came with a 200A Blue sea breaker too.
I've been interested in this type of build dating way back to the early Turtle Expedition trucks.

I have dual 120 amp alternators, what amperage should I assume my house batteries might see? A full 240? Ther are two starting batteries to run through, and 25' of wire. And 120 amps is going to be peak output.
Thoughts? Is a 200amp breaker good on the main house to starting battery run? I have a 150 amp combiner I was planning to use, but that seems undersized now.

"FEATURES < 150 amps continuous rating, 400 amps closing current (2 seconds), 200 amps for 5 minutes < Suitable for alternators up to 200 amps, up to 18 volts"
Good for 200A alternators? Seems like they de rate the alternators a fair bit.

Its unlikely that it will ever see 240 amps to the batteries. Batteries will only take at a rate the is dictated by the chemical reaction, the surface area of the plates, the amount of charge, etc.
The only time you'll see anywhere near 240 amps between the batteries and the alternator is when you're pulling that kind of load with accessories.
hmmm so what can i expect 4 250AH 6V AGM batteries to draw when they are 90% depleted?
tell me more about your windows. need something for the snowcat and I like the looks of what you have there.

They are double pane rv windows. Slide in from the outside with a clamp ring on the inside.
They will make whatever shape you want. Motion windows is the mfg, not cheap, but seem good so far.

Got the window infill panels done. Used the cutout from the box! Has a rib on either piece, makes a nice stiff panel.
Maybe I missed this, but what are you planning to do with the opening in terms of the gap between the cab and box? I'd assume that there's a bit of flex between the two, no? Just curious.

I have an accordian seal that will go there. Big piece of floppy rubber, speced for 2-7" gaps.
Hopefully my new saw shows up tomorrow like it's supposed to so I can get the seal on! I'll take a pic next time it's out of the box.
Awesome. I figured you had a plan before you actually cut the back of the cab up, but missed where it was gone over, haha. This rig will be awesome. If I could make something like this and still have it capable of pulling my car trailer, that would be the be-all, end-all of tow vehicle/camper/car hauler setups.

The guy I bought it from pulled a 26' enclosed car trailer with it.... Probably a bit too much weight (its registered for 14k.) but it did it just fine. Thats why he stretched the wheel base, to keep the leverage from the trailer down.
Yeah I had a sort of plan before I cut it, not too much though.... Getting it back together will be fun.... Lots of curves to fight the seal around.
