That is a concern but we're aiming for quicker response with the lighter smaller tires. Right before the Challenge last year I was amazed at how much 275/35/18s weigh. I need weigh them to show the difference.
Last year's wheels/tires 51.5 lbs per corner. This year's are 34.5 lbs a corner.
We didn't get to use our chemical stripper today. We did pull the headlights, taillights, windshield, and rear window. Think in the morning we're going to pull the bumpers so that we can strip the body without worrying about damaging them.
We got a lot done today.
We started by removing the bumpers. Then we removed the side skirts and spent way too long contemplating if they should stay off or on. Ended up with a compromise of leaving the outer skirt while removing a lot of weight in the inter structure.
Next we finished up our camber mods by boxing in the angle iron and adding our strut brace back in.
While we did that Carol was sanding the rear bumper. It was going slow as hell so we tested some chemical stripper on it. Didn't seem to harm the plastic so she used it to strip the rear bumper.
That was all done before lunch.
After lunch we lined up the front bumper and side skirts. We did all them plus the rest of the hood in a team effort and called it a day.
Waiting for Chris to get home so we can work on his pool. Looking at her I get the impression of a project long abandoned. If it weren't mine I'd try and buy it.

I nearly wet myself when I read this.. My sons name is Chris, and he's always bringing home orphans (cars, trucks, dogs, bunnies etc.). My wife thought it was me you were talking about. Right now I have a 83 Camaro in the driveway.
In reply to Dirtydog :
When Lil Stampie was about three he perked up and said "What car is that!" for the first time. It was a third gen Camaro.
In reply to Stampie :
They'll never lose "What car is that!", and then it's "I need that". My son has been saying it since he started driving about 20 years ago.
In reply to Dirtydog :
Mine is only 10 but he's pissed that he is going to miss a road trip to get a new car this weekend.

What'ya buying? (Is it going to be Saturn LLO powered ?)
In reply to Indy-Guy :
No ... To be honest it's the current winner over a LLO but if it doesn't work I have agreement that LLO will be it.
Today we moved to Stripper level con 4. Actually worked pretty well. Carol started applying stripper, after 15 minutes Chris and I started scraping. Carol then followed behind us getting the areas that needed more stripper. Still have more to do but went much better than I thought and so far we only used a gallon of stripper.
We love stripper parties so much we had another one. We did our first coat on the roof.
Then we just hit a lot of little spots that didn't come off before and rinsed her off.
Before we put her up for the night I noticed some pigeon porn for Seth.

Lol that don't help me in 3 weeks unless you want me to put the Bradley on top of the Q45. And I can. And I can still make half budget. But it would be a little awkward.
Today was a no school day aka free child labor day.
Lil Stampie doing what I call start it and charge the battery. He calls it pretend to be a race car driver until Dad yells that's enough revving it.
We filled in some of our dents where the paint stripper got the chalking. Waiting for that to dry and hopefully get some sanding in before lunch.

How would I show off my paint tint.
Leave (a) reverse stripe(s) where there's no paint at all. Could cherry pick a good spot that way.
