Team Stampie flips a CB650 Cafe Racer

Sometimes timing is everything ...

On the way to Track Night at the FIRM we stopped at our metal store to pick up some bases for Jack stands. The manager has a 79 CB650 he's been building over the last few years. While I'm paying I see an ad on their discount board that it's for sale $1250 obo. I tell him I just sold a non running CB550 for $800 and he should be able to get more. Then I half jokingly say I'm thinking about offering him $1000 just to flip it. I tell him that I'll think about it and he says he'll sell it for $800. I hand over the $800 and tell him I'll pick it up within a week. 

Can you flip it to me please

Interesting how the muffler (more like header with muffler delete) empties out right into the license plate. 

Seems like it would be a hot license plate.

I wonder if the air flow at speed is enough to keep it cool. He started it up and I was surprised at it not being obnoxiously loud but I'm running a spec Miata exhaust on the street so.

No pictures of loading with a fork lift cause that's boring. Unloading with a engine hoist and Lil Stampie was only a little sketchy. 

We hit the DMV for title this morning and the ex put it on the book of faces for us. Once the title comes in I'll probably put it on eBay and see what it does. 

Seems like a pretty decent method of unloading.

Ugh now I want it more, but have nothing to sell quickly for $.  I haven’t even paid for the q45 yet, hoping i can work that one off before it comes time to give any money. That’s a good looking bike.
