In the tradition of starting a build thread before I get home I want to introduce you to Terence the Tractor.
Ok so I don't have a picture yet. The seller lives only a mile away so we're going to walk there in a few and drive him back.

Me too, dude. Me too.
Stampie has been doing it twice as long as you though.
Seller filled it up but we had to stop at the gas station cause well gas station.
Got him home and this is what we have. 6 speed now zero cut.
22hp is more than the T makes.
I'm sure the custom high flow exhaust adds at least 1hp.
And let's not forget this is the Gran Turismo edition.
Nice!
My Craftsman lawn tractor's sheet metal started to tear at the seat hinge. I added a piece of flat bar on the bottom to clamp the metal and it seemed to help.
Any interest in parting with the rear lift piece? Been wanting one for mine. Nice machine by the way! Does low range work? Frequently they were always left in high range and the selector rusts in place. Low range is LOW.
In reply to TJL :
Low range does work and I'm not sure about the lift. I have ideas of putting an engine hoist on the rear which means that lift wouldn't be needed.
I'm surprised no one has pointed out it's a 4 wheel production based vehicle with a very short wheelbase and narrow track width.
Hey that's a 4 wheel production based vehicle with a very short wheelbase and narrow track width.
#nailedit
better check the "rollover" conditions height/trackwidth. Might make it thru Challenge tech with really wide axles.
Correction...
GT doesn't stand for Gran Turismo. It stands for Green Tractor or Grassroots Tractor.
Just sayin'
I acquired what looks like the same tractor from the side of the road once. Guy's wife hated it so he kicked it to the curb. I chucked the mower deck, eventually painted it but used it to tow sailplanes around until we could afford two golf carts.
You're welcome to the whole thing or parts from it, have to run through the barns to see if mice haven't carried it away.

That milk crate bed is great. I appreciate the offer but not sure the gas money is worth it. We're planning to use Terence in a similar way.
We got a slight discount because the starter solenoid was bad. While easy to start with a screwdriver across the terminals we decided a key start was better. New solenoid going in.
After that we did what any true bid redneck would. We popped wheelies!

Somebody's gotta save that vintage No Fear sticker!

I've spent my whole life disappointing people. Just ask my ex.
It's good to be consistent
Whats the goal for it? Yard mule? Mud mower? The rear end in that thing is actually quite strong. They could be used for actual ground work like plowing.
I think those are john deere wheels. The stock ones had some rust issues. I think the originals are wider overall. Like less backspacing but same width rim. Heres mine with stock size v-treads. The v treads make it so much better.
In reply to TJL :
It's going to be a yard mule. 100% perfect would be I can counterweight it enough to pick up engines and move them around. I grabbed a $35 old school engine hoist a couple of weeks back expecting to get this.
