Heres Gumby drilling holes in my perfectly good control arms, while Bob helps.

How does Bob help?

As comfortably as possible.

Thanks Bob!
These Midwest boys seemed pleased that almost all of the bolts came out without a fight. We made quick work of it. Or actually, Gumby made quick work of it.

Bye bye, soft springs and skinny bar. And isolators. NVH is no problem. Moar low is moar better.
Speaking of moar,

MEAT!

Jumping from 185 to 245 should help. We'll get those mounted in the morning and head south.

Huge success so far. Big big thanks to all involved.

Bob, thanks! Great to meet you and the help was great. Lots of laughs too. and the sway link idea was genius. Worked a treat.
If y'all haven't met Bob, meet Bob. Good people.

Gumby's shop is cool. The cars are cool. Gumby is cool.

The springs are swapped, front sway bar is swapped, rear bar added. Adapters and free wheels mocked up. Alignment checked.
It's good. Photos tomorrow.

The pleasure was definitely mine. It was nice working on old stuff that doesn't crumble. Be safe and keep having fun!

Packed up and on the road. Indiana is great. Gumby is awesome. He even brought us breakfast! White Castle was a new experience, and not half bad. And now I can say I've slept where Stampie slept. So that's something.  And the toilet wasn't bad. There's electricity and part time running water and stacks of racing slicks. Best outhouse I've ever seen.

Todays journey should take us into Georgia. We'll stay there until Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

Well, looks like that answers my question about stopping by tonight after work to lend a hand.  Sorry I missed meeting you and your Dad.  Have a safe journey and enjoy the ride.

Regarding the numbers: they seem to be going up, so are they the total number of hours spent driving, or perhaps the number of quarts of oil (or antifreeze) the car has consumed.

The free wheels didn't look terrible on the car either; plus they were fairly straight and didn't take stupid amounts of weight to balance.

Number of times you've broken 80? Okay, cheap shot, I'll withdraw that one. Number of same body Mustangs you've seen?

At our destination in Georgia.

The car is better now. Way flatter, way more confident.
We measured after lowering. -1.2 left and -.6 right, 1/8 toe-in IIRC. The toe made a pretty noticeable difference on the highway. Much smoother and more stable.
Probably not great for autocross, but that can be addressed later.

We have 4 wheels and some hardware that we didn't have yesterday, but it all fits in the car. Lawrenceville Wednesday night and Gainesville Thursday. I'll be glad for the next couple days to stretch my legs.

In the tires. Mounted and balanced. They're stacked on the back seat, with a couple VW wheels sandwiched between.
