Is this thread for real?

It takes two to tango, and your tone in the latter part of this thread is not appreciated. You're all complicit, and I've had enough of your smartass nonsense. Don't make me come back in here.

I am trying to be polite but find it very difficult to engage him in any kind of conversation. I don't think he has responded at all to any of my questions or acknowledged in an intelligent fashion my suggestions.

It is somewhat frustrating because it is actually a product/project that I and apparently others find interesting. This is actually the route I was thinking of going with my crowdsourced car idea which I had considered posting long ago before go3wheeler came along. I have been sketching various 3 wheelers for a long time (Enclosed commuters of various configuration solo upright, solo low slung, side by side, tandem etc. as well as open performance models) and have found myself following almost any 3 wheeler build but have found the level of engineering and actual design to be very minimal in most of them and the failure to complete rate very high. Something about the idea of 3 wheelers is intoxicating to me. I think it's because it's a challenge no one has really solved gracefully yet. The most successful ones have been so different in execution (Reliant robin, Typical bike conversions, Trex, Morgan 3wheeler, Canam spyder) that it's just a very intriguing world.

Dude, start a thread. We'll go into yours and we can give and take criticism and you can have your fun. As far as what to do with this guy, my personal path forward is to occasionally click and giggle, but never post (after this one).

I would not expect anything different. Your ideas and advice on builds are VERY GOOD!!!!

That's at least partially my fault, and that of the others who were snippy. I got upset when he dismissed all the locost-like builds, including the midlana(!!!)

Don't blame yourself Joey, it's fairly easy to see where this went down hill and it wasn't you ;)

I'm tempted to grab up the parts pile around my garage and build a competitor, with just spare parts and the knowledge of this group I'm certain I can build a 3 wheeler that will be on the road sooner, perform better (choose your definition of performance and we'll agree to a standard) and cost under $1k assembled. Damn I wish I had the free time to back my statements up, it would be a fun challenge ;) Heck its not much different than my motorized hammock project right now, steel tube frame, sourced motor, rack and pinion steering, fiberglass body...done. Took about 3 weeks to build that one ;)

I'd sub to that.

I really want to build a Morgan 3 wheeler replica.

That would be really cool, you could even replicate the newest one by using a V-Twin motorcycle engine. The new Morgan 3 wheeler looks so cool with the V-Twin up front.

In reply to Double_Wishbone:

I thought they all used a V-twin up front.

Started with the J.A.P. twins.

So as not to torpedo this thread further hop on over to Off Topic later on tonight where I shall postulate on a 3 - wheel challenge, open to all comers. Purely hypothetical, but hey if there's interest who knows ;)

Don't quote me on it, but I thought they started with a V-twin with their first, then abandoned it, and then started remaking them now. Although I could be wrong.

He looks like an expert on bending moments, too. Lots of practice and test cases.
