Yep, btdt.

Yeah, my buddy's 4runner was really bad about this. I couldn't imagine how low I'd need to duck with the Touareg

It's actually not bad at all. My wife and I went to my office yesterday, both of us got in/out of the car normally and didn't whack our heads on the bars. Although my wife is pretty short, so that's never really an issue for her, lol
Quick update on on my Touareg tune to confirm what Doc has experienced. I finally ditched the Oakes tune and switched to Malone stage 2... It was an immediate improvement, eliminating the very smoky startup and rough idle. The driving dynamics were also improved, with even more torque and the massive amount of soot coming out the back of the car was eliminated as well. Did a trip from Denver to Crested Butte (about 500 miles in the weekend) and noticed a 6mpg improvement which is pretty impressive doing several climbs up mountain passes and driving 75mph across the sparse areas of Colorado.
Definitely stick to the long-time pros at Malone and would recommend!

I've been averaging about 25mpg mixed on mine, I flashed Stage 1 on it since I'm running the passes to Vail for the next month or so. I'll flash back to Stage 2 because although they're rated the same HP/Torque, there's WAY more power under the curve with Stage 2
About to turn 115k miles on it and order another oil change kit from FCP Euro. Things have settled out financially, which was the reason I sold my Land Cruiser and bought this. So of course my automotive ADD has kicked in and I'm seriously contemplating picking up a 2016 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S I've found that's got 2 years of CPO coverage. If I follow through with this questionably smart financial choice, I'd like the Touareg to go to a GRMer. If anyone's interested in it, drop me a note.
Closing in on a "new" DD, found another Cayenne, this time a "regular" Turbo, not a Turbo S. Not a whole lot of difference between the two aside from a software tune. I can add a tune to this and get more power than a stock Turbo S, if I want. This one has pretty much all the options I want as well, I like the color combo and it has about the same miles. It isn't CPO'd, but it's nearly $20k cheaper, which pays for a TON of maintenance. Conveniently it's close to a good gear head friend of mine, who's going to check it out for me next week. If he gives me the thumbs up I'll buy it.
Debating a fly n drive, as I can stay with my friend and it's a solid 1 day drive back. Easy drive as long as there isn't a storm, car is in Utah and that I80 corridor gets closed down frequently in the winter...
