I've come back to the world of GRM. I now own a 1997 E36 M3. I have forgotten how to post pictures here.

Now that I've got that working again, hopefully everyone can see the sad state of the car when I got it home.
The M3 has every familiar symptom of a car that has lived a hard life. It's not rusty though, and that was the biggest problem for me when I was shopping.
The car has unknown headers, an exhaust that was described as "Magnaflow" and is kind of loud and annoying. Suspension is H&R. The dirty wheels are Fikse. There's and M50 intake manifold and Turner Motorsports kit in the trunk.
So, out of the two seats, I've managed to build a functional driver's seat. I'm going to have to source a replacement seatback frame before I can put the passenger seat back together.
The car has a somewhat significant vacuum leak, but I have to pull the intake manifold so I can install the M50 intake anyway.
I've found a semi-local E36 M3 that's getting parted out. Hopefully I can get some of the parts I need and start cleaning this thing up soon. As it is, I can't even register it yet. I need a windshield, and I have to clear the code for the vacuum leak first.
I'll work on the pictures thing.
