Why not tracking the 924?

could track the 924s, and performance should be comparable to an E30 - it's just that the level of work required to make it a reliable-ish track car is beyond what it would take to be a good street car. There are also newer platforms that can do double-duty with fewer compromises and have much higher performance envelopes out-of-the-box.

My 924S is running like crap these days - i'm in troubleshooting mode and suspect I might have jumped timing by a tooth somehow. I was gonna do timing belts this winter anyhow so not too worried, but didn't drive it as much this summer/fall due to lousy idle and stuff.

Side note: if you are looking for any more of the phone dial wheels, I have a set just sitting in my shed (well, one is my full-size spare in the car). So if you want another set for winter, track, or whatever I'm sure we could make a deal.

Bummer that the car's not running right. I'm debating dropping the entire drivetrain on mine over the winter to fix various things - I can't fit the whole car into the garage, but I could bring it inside in bits and pieces :-)

Thanks for the wheel offer. I've been half looking for 4 front wheels from a 986 Boxster for a square 17" set-up as performance tire selection for the stock 15s are kind of limited...

IDK if you follow my thread, but I'm running a staggered 911 d90 (16") set with 205s up front and 225s in the rear and I really like the handling/grip balance with that setup (and it looks great IMO). Only downside is no ability to rotate, but I don't drive a ton of miles so not an issue for me.
