That would be something.. but I actually have my sights set a little higher for the next car, like turning a $10k car into a $40k car.

Find a rough G50 911? Seems low for a rough one and that much is high even for a premium example that would need more than the sale price to get it there. Maybe a 308 Ferrari?, but again it's going to be seriously rough for $10k, like sporting a V6 chevy engine rough. An abandoned Cobra kit car maybe?
