1964 Volvo PV544 Sport - $1,750
Up for sale is my beloved 544. It's not running, with a bit of work it could be. It's pretty much all there. It has some rust, although not terrible. The engine was excellent not so many miles ago, but when I parked it (after a long road trip) ~ it was low on compression on one cyl and burning more oil than I'd like. It has excellent oil pressure. I don't know the history of the engine, except that ~ the car I took it out of was very fast (for an old Volvo) ~ I expect it has some sort of special cam shaft, it has double valve springs. The car has IPD sway bars front and back ~ these are no longer available for the 544. The front end is in reasonable condition, I went through it and replaced worn out parts a couple years ago. I expect it still works, it has a pretty decent blue tooth CD stereo, with a decent power amp and an 'under the seat' subwoofer. The tires are decent. The brakes are not working, they will if they're bled out ~ although they should probably be gone through. As I recall it needs a speedometer cable. The seats are not torn up, they're OK. There is no battery for it. To be a decent driver this car will need some work, but it's a very fun car. I made some very strong roof racks that can go with it. I have quite a few spare parts that can also go with it, including a generator, lights, lenses, a transmission, probably some carburettor parts.
(I kinda forget what all I have but it all goes with the car). I've driven this one all over the country ~ I've put a lot of miles on it and many adventures. I have no idea how many miles she has, but *lots*. I have clear title for it. You should plan to tow, or trailer it ~ if you're a clever mechanic you should have it running / driving in an afternoon.
