Seller said: PLEASE READ THE ADD COMPLETELY BEFORE CALLING. This is a 1966 MGB that is cmplete including original boot and tonneau covers, wire wheels, seats, dash, jack and tire tools along with aftermarket hard top and roll bar. The engine will start and run with an external fuel tank but needs carb work to run good. This MGB is a true barn find, it's all together and is not a "basket case" like most you find. It does have a lot of rust but is fixable, the rocker panels are intact and is a good candidate for restoration. As you know these "60's" MGB's are getting hard to find and the value of these has started to sky rocket over the last few years. If I don't sell it I will part it out so if you want any parts off it let me know. It is not drive-able as is and will need a lot of work to get in driving condition, It has been sitting in a barn for 20 years. IT IS NOT DRIVE-ABLE AS IS AND NEEDS TO BE RESTORED CASH ONLY, NO PAYPAL $1200 OBO

Appears to be a few rust spots in the engine bay but looks fairly intact. Worth 1200 bucks?

If you are hankering to do a full on rotisserie restoration, then this is a good candidate. Even doing the work yourself, you will still have more into it than buying one that is done. Yet you still see many people dropping 15-20 K on these kinds of restorations.

It's hard to see the condition. I see rust in the seat pictures but cannot tell if the floor pans are gone or just surface rust. EDIT: nm you can see clearly in the steering wheel picture that the floor pan is GONE. Which means you are right car needs a complete rotissery. I'm just not interested in that large of a project.

Perusing british v8 and I think I'd rather a modern turbo 4 cylinder in it... Even 150 hp has to scoot with a car that weighs what 2500 lbs?

Probably looking at, at minimum, floors and rockers (inner and outer) just to make it structurally stable.

Seems to me the GRM way into British sportscars is to buy an old race car retired long ago for cheap and bring it back to whatever specification/level of modification you were after. They just rust too damn much to gamble on a cheap driver not ending up a rusty can of worms.

The worst part is that after looking into them. I kind of like the mgb's now. I'm 6ft4in and 300 lbs or so. I might be a tad wide for the car, but apparently they had much much larger footboxes than say a miata... (I only fit in a NC, I can drive an NB but only if I use my pinky toe for gas, my big toe for brakes and my left foot for clutch...)

LOL, I know exactly where that car is. It's at an automotive repair shop's backyard. It's been for sale nearly a year now. Oh, his original asking price was $2500.

The MGA's are close to NA/NB miatas interior room wise IMHO. MGB's have signifigantly more room. BGT's are where its at though.
