just over 7000 built over a few years. Lots of headroom for modification
Those YBT engines can make tons of power.

Holy cow that is awesome. How on earth is it here though? Not 25 years old yet.. did someone do the import paperwork to make these importable or something?
These still look awesome after all these years.
300hp used to seem like so much. I'm sure it's plenty in this car but it used to be "ALL THE POWER" and now it's "average mid-high end sedan" range.
$47k simultaneously seems like "not too bad" and "way too much."
I'm thinking, UrQuattro, aan conversion, RS2 upgrades plus. And take the 25k left over and buy another really cool car.
The Cosworth YBT can also make close to 1000 hp. There were only 7000 odd of these made. The 4WD driveline is from the Sierra Cosworth which was made in both 2WD and 4WD. They did pretty well in Touring Car racing in Australia, Europe, and England. This one is supposedly CA smog legal. How cheap is a good URQ?

You can still find an UrQ for 10-12k. The AAN is only like a grand (you can sell the UrQ engine for near that) and the upgrades should be a few grand. I know most here find the Ford more interesting. TO me, it's a ford. The Audi has more historical significance and is simply cooler. It's also very rare and essentially hand built. No 2 were truly identical. (that's also a down side to one)
