Not my car. It belongs to my teammate Tod, the other half of Cobra Kai Racing. (Were on page 36 of the current Issue under "Great Moments in $2000 Challenge History" with our TR7. I'm the ugly one. :)

This is Tod's personal car. I tried to buy it about 11 months ago, but it was not for sale. It looks better in person than the photos. I think he got lazy putting up the top for the photos, so it looks odd, but the top is good.

It's an 1994 R Miata located in Sarasota, FL. Currently in stock form except for the adjustable Konis. He had them re-valved for autocross so they cost around $1,000. But he also got new bump stops and new R springs. New timing belt, no leaks, working A/C, good top, New 195/xx/15 Toyo R1Rs.

He is selling the extra parts separately, but of course, you could work a package deal. Off the top of my head the extra parts are: Racing Beat big fat hollow sway bar, Racing Beat sway bar reinforcement, Nice Kumho 205/xx/14 V-710s on the factory 14" rims (he actually has 5 tires), Hawk brake pads, Flyin' Miata super light weight tow hitch, and very nice Tire Trailer with storage box.

It's a good car. Pulls strong. No problems that I'm aware of.

Because it was not for sale I bought a '96 M edition, and immediately spent a fortune on extra rims, bushings, shocks, springs, sway bar, timing belt, oil leaks, 2 sets of tires, etc, etc, etc.
My point is that there is great efficiency/savings in buying a sorted, ready to drive, car.

Oh god. This is not good. A white '94 R. With mods. I'm lucky that thing's a plane ticket away. I may have to re-think this engine build.

Think he'd take a DD Accord+cash?

Oh, I forgot to say that it is sitting on the higher strut setting to be SCCA legal, so it would be very easy to lower it.

It has about 150K miles on it. That would normally scare me off, if I had not driven it. It pulls like it should, and shifts like it should.

It's always been a Florida car so no rust. Tod got it from a friends sister who bought it new because she liked it. I don't think she knew what the R meant.

He replaced it with an S-2000, so I don't think he is looking for trades.

I know he would like to see it go to an autocrosser. Otherwise it's likely to be picked up my a little old lady when the snow birds come back down for the winter.

My guess is that the front bumper cover has been replaced by a local bodyshop. If it were mine I'd look into getting it to fit better. Obviously It fit good enough for the original owner to be ok with it. I'm an amateur body man, so I keep at it until it fits right.
