It pains me to do this, but I am going to have to part ways with my Mustang. This is a car that I have mechanically sorted, but haven't quite cosmetically sorted yet.

I'd love to see $4k, but I will entertain offers if you feel it is out of line. I am also interested in trades as well, as I need to get a car with an automatic for my wife. She would love a first gen Xb,  but let me know what you have. I can also throw cash on top if you have something worth more.

The basics:

1999 Mustang
221k on chassis
As was told to me by the previous owner, there should be around 55-56k on the engine
4.6 V8
5 sp manual
Black on black leather
Cold AC
Hot heat
Power windows, door locks, keyless entry
Everything works except the cruise control. I haven't been able to figure that one out yet.

It has:

Urethane bushings all around
New shocks and lowering springs
Newer fluids in everything (brakes, diff, transmission) I have all the records for these
I only ran synthetic oil in it
Converted all the lights to LED, including the proper flasher to make them all play nice and not blink fast
K&N cold ait intake
Magnaflow exhaust (best sounding 4.6 I have every heard)
Tube rear upper and lower control arms
Steeda Triax shifter
Updated to a 2002-2004 center console so that 2nd gear shift won't punch your beverage
Crappy ebay projector headlights
Cobra front bumper cover
Firewall adjustable clutch cable and aluminum clutch quadrant
Rear camera that comes on through the rear view mirror when in reverse

Spare parts due to project creep include:

13 Mustang GT seats
Used Eibach springs
Misc urethane bushings
Used oem rear upper and lower control arms
Mustang GT front grill with flaming Mustang
Extra AC hose, new
Replacement Mustang Cobra fog lights
1.5" aluminum wheel spacers
Front strut tower chassis brace
29mm front sway bar from 03 cobra
New urethane bushings for the cobra sway bar
Used alternator
Defective PCM
Extra ignition coils, used
35th anniversary mustang fender emblems, used
Maximum Motorsports rear upper control arm
Spherical ball bearing lower control arm
Spherical bearing for the upper control arm to diff
Maximum Motorsports stock upper control arm bushings
Maximum Motorsports lower control arm bushing tool
Steel torque box reinforcement, bolt or weld on
Subframe connectors
LED sequential tail lights
Steeda lower control arm bushings for lowered cars
Used cruise control module

The good:

Runs and drives fantastic. I had so much fun at the local autocross with it. Had a skilled driver take it out and they had many good words about how capable it was.

There is barely any rust at all, not even surface. It is amazingly clean, and was easy to work on when my friends and I replaced the whole suspension in one day (on a lift).

The bad:

It has been in an accident that bent a few things up. The previous owner did a pretty terrible job fixing it. I had no plans to address that as it looks ok, and it is sealed well enough thatI can bring it through a pressurize car wash. I was just going to clean it up and paint it. One of the rear quarters has some body filler. The front radiator support had some damage, I managed to straighten it out enough to get the bumper attached well and keep it from rubbing all the brake and power steering lines running by there.

The previous owner did an awful job repainting it. The clearcoat is falling off so bad that it looks like it suffers from eczema.

The plastic intake manifold had the nipple (hahahaha) break that goes to the heater core. I had a friend machine a new one, and I JB welded it in. It will probably need an extra layer of JB, as it weeps enough that I have to add a couple cups of coolant every 3 or 4 months.

Have you tried the local Mustang clubs on Facebook? CT Mustangs and Late Model Mustang Club are the two best local groups. I have a soft spot for New Edges, I owned an '01 GT and just sold it about a year ago.

You'll need to log in to post.
