So, the story on this car- I bought it off the forum, sorta, from Pete (L33T). His Garage had done a PPI on it for a Widow and this was her late husbands toy. It is pretty flawless for a 19 year old car. 117,000mi.
Pics and thread that Pete took (I'm having issues with posting photos, but will get some up tonight somehow) are here-

Only thing cosmetically different is that I added some (nice aluminum) parallel bars for a roof rack.
The ONLY things needing attention are-
- It's a near 20 year old BMW, so gaskets are getting crunchy
- I bought it with rear bumper damage, so a new bumper cover is needed if you want. It's perfectly functional- just the plastic has cracked in 2 spots.
- Passenger front seat has 'seat twist'. This is a $0 repair, but takes about 4-6 hours. I'm just lazy and haven't gotten around to it.
- I was TOLD it had timing chain tensioners replaced in 2016, but I do not have proof of that, nor have I cracked the engine open to find out. It's a strong runner and does not make unpleasant noises in any way.
Obviously, it's an older car, so it does have some character, but for the age it is in impressively good condition. I have repaired the minor radiator leak as mentioned in the original thread, as well as put brand new RE01's and a 4 wheel alignment on the car... in addition to a million other small things. Has an EONON head unit now because the OEM radio died last summer, which works great and has modern phone interaction capabilities.
I bought it for $4500 before Covid (11/2019 I did a fly and drive to Cleveland), and I think* it's worth more now perhaps? Just looking to keep it in the family. Any questions, I'm happy to help. I'm also interested in trades for a manual trans wagon of any make/model/vintage.
Reason for selling- I have a longer-term, much more involved project incoming to me, and I need the garage space to free up room for fabrication... Otherwise, I absolutely love the car.
