Great car, but the top should probably be replaced. A couple seams are separating. You could patch it up and run it if you really wanted. Would be great if you want to do a top delete or put a hard top on it. I'm not aware of a cheaper NC that isn't totally trashed or an automatic. Looking for around $4700 obo.
I can provide more pictures, these are just what I had on hand.
Best color for the NC by far.

Definitely the best color. My son bought one two years ago, really makes these cars pop. I don't think I have every seen a rusty NC, but do watch the drains, I have had an inch of rain in my trunk after a heavy storm, so clean the drains often.
Just called the insurance lady to get a cost to add 16 year old daughter liability only......not bad - same as 2007 Civic.
Where at in Michigan?
Do fat guys and NC's mix? Nice car, love the color.
They mix better than any other Miata.

Nothing on the body. Some surface underneath but it's 13 years old. I would describe it as clean.

Royal Oak
In reply to dherr :
Yep. Car comes with an instrument cleaner for just this purpose.
black rims = winter tires? included in sale?
FWIW, I work very close to Royal Oak so could lay eyes on this car for potential buyer. Full disclosure: i might tell you it's a POS, then buy it myself. ;-)
Holy carp. Have NC's got this cheap for good ones? Wow, seems a hell of a deal. I realize that I may be in the minority (frequent case actually) but I like the NC. It's the right size. I find the ND too small. Not as in fat, although I am, but more in general space around me, especially behind my head, I just feel crowded in it. The NC I like though.
The oldest NCs are pretty much at the bottom of the curve these days but have not yet fallen into the hands of the youts who stickerbomb and slam and neglect. The ND kicked their resale value around too, which didn't help. So if the Miata-shaped hole in your heart is shaped like an NC, now is your time. Expect to hear this repeated over and over and over and over again on forums and in the press, it is the narrative of the moment.
Do drive them first, though. They're a different feeling car than the NA/NB and ND.
In reply to AngryCorvair :
Yes. They could be looped into the deal.
In reply to Adrian_Thompson :
Not generally. My price reflects the tired top.
If I slapped a a new $2000 top on it, the price would reflect that.

$2k?! Is the top on these really that difficult to do? I've done a couple on NA's, and while it's not a fun job, it's not difficult. Keith, what's the top replacement like on one of these?
I've never actually had to do it. It is a more complex top than on the earlier cars though.
Im also in Royal Oak if someone is genuinely Interested and wants eyes on it (after this weekend)
I liked how the NC drove more than my NA, but I was looking at it as a potential commuter more than a track or autocross toy.

Would it be possible to get a few photos of the underside? I have a 2007 Fusion that has spent all of it's life in northern Indiana and I would describe it as clean even though it has seen some salt in it's lifetime. If this is in similar condition, it would be worth a drive north to check it out.

I'm with you. I've owned NA and NBs, but the NC is by far my favorite simply for being a bit larger. I still think they drive pretty well and I like the looks better too. Certainly the ND drives better, but I feel like a grown up in a kids pedal car, and I'm not a big guy. I want a NC Club, but they're still a bit more in price than I want to spend on a toy. I wish they were classed in a more friendly way for autocross however.
The only thing that really sets the Club apart is the stock suspension calibration. If you're throwing in, say, FM springs and Konis then it doesn't really matter :)
Opinions of the NC sure are changing as the price comes down.
