A friend of mine was the designer of this generation Eclipse and actually quit Mitsu over the changes they made to his concept car. Corporate said that the demographic for the Eclipse was secretaries that drive automatics.
This is Eclipse is very fitting for my friends journey because when he left Mitsubishi he went to work for West Coast Choppers.
What did his concept look like?
I remember when that one came out I read about possibility of it having hybrid AWD, meaning an electric motor powering the rear wheels and the gas motor up front. I was really excited for it.
Then it came out and it was only better than the 3rd gen in that it didn't have the goody side ripples.
But for $1300 I'm not sure you could get those tires...
I've never personally been there, but from what I've heard that car is a perfect example of Pahrump.
Robbie you are totally correct. It was a very advanced concept that got watered down to blah.
