My sister had one when she was in college that looked exactly the same, except her's was a 5-speed manual. Full-time AWD. Hers also had a scrape over the right-rear wheel well where I backed into it (oops!). My brother also drove the same car until he broke something in the transfer case (spider gear?). It then lived a good life as a field car w/some neighbors. It felt cheap, but it was good on gas, AWD and pretty interesting. It leaned a bit more around corners than my Tercel wagon, tall skinny tires probably had something to do with that. If I found one locally I'd buy it and go rally-x. I did find a thread on the alltrac.net forum where someone swapped an ST165 (turbo awd celical all-trac) drivetrain into one of these...not sure if it's worth the effort, other than for oddball credit..but it's possible.
It's an 80s Toyota in Pennsylvania...something's off w/the metal-to-rust ratio in this picture.
In reply to Hoondavan :
Rust was my first thought. Way too far to go look and not buy. I'd also hate looking for parts for it.
