Okay, I finally got this Bugeye home nearly a year after making the deal.
A bit (LOT!) more work to make a car of it than anticipated.
I knew it had a V8 in it at one time, but they cut out more than should have been needed even for BB.
Hard to believe drag race tracks ever let this make runs.
Pretty much rust-free, rear body is pretty strait, converted to five lug GM? bolt pattern, Sprite disk brakes in the front and modified GM? rear axle missing the ring and pinion.
Decent SCCA modified steel Bugeye bonnet.
I just want to break even on it now, Mom had a stroke a while ago and I am thinning down the number of projects.
$1,200.00 for the Bugeye as pictured.
For a little more I will throw in a Mk. II Sprite that can provide replacement firewall/frame members, spare doors, spare rear springs, etc.
Make a decent enough offer and I may let the fiberglass bonnet go, but sort of have a plan for it.
It is in rough shape but Fiberglass is nearly always repairable.
I have more pics not posted.
Still in No. Nevada near Reno, I will be here forever.
Really looking for cash but might take SBC performance parts I need for my El Camino in full or part trade.
Lotus Europa S2 parts are of interest, Lotus 7/Locost nose and fenders needed.
Does it have a title? Is there a dash to go with it? What SBC parts would you be interested in?
No title, ex drag race car.
No dash but I may know where to get one.
I do have side screens and top bows.
If I remember on Sunday I will try to take the first steps to possibly getting a title.
SBC parts, a better 4xIDF intake than the CB Performance I have, ideally a genuine Inglese'.
I have Brownfield (Same as early AFR) heads, going to need shaft rockers to fit them.
The aluminum flywheel I had seems to have grown legs and run away.
A distributor-less ignition or Megasquirt, doing ignition ONLY.
Trade for a set of three Weber 40 DCOE's.
Want the Webers for a TR6 engine and I already have the manifold.
They do need to be "Matching", not made ten years apart.
With so many guys going Injection there should be lots of Webers around.
New too cheap to pass up price, only $750
I have at least that into it, gas alone for the trip to go get it was $500
Summer solstice has passed, days are getting shorter, and I need funding to finish my El Camino.
I listed all my project cars and highlighted the ones I cannot bear to part with.
This one did not make that list.
Fiberglass nose is NOT included but the blue Bugeye nose is.
A lot of folk would want this price for just the nose.
A Mk. II parts car is also available if someone wants to try to restore this back to original.
How much with the fiberglass nose?
$1,100 with both noses, recoup the one you do not use.
If I keep it I could put that 'Glass nose on the '70 Midget I almost have running.
