So now that I am purchasing a highly modified Mazdaspeed Miata, swapping over the 1.6 and automatic in our rust free 91 is looking less appealing. I had picked up a 94 M-Edition for the drive train but it ended up having a title and with a few small fixes, was a runner. So my plan was to swap over the entire drive train including front and rear subframes over to our 91 to convert it to a manual transmission and get all the M-Edition goodies including the torsen diff. So now that that has changed, I am putting up the donor car for sale at challenge pricing.
1994 M- Edition - Runs, drives, wrecked on the drivers side corner , blew both airbags and broke the windshield. 16X,xxx miles, runs, stops, drives in all gears, I have taken it down our road a few times. Has a title, the M-interior and a top that is in good condition except for needing a rear window. Rust in the rear rocker on both sides, front rockers are intact. Needs a fender and I have a good nose removed from another M-Edition to repair the damage, just needs a drivers side fender. Few pictures below, can send more to anyone interested. $800

Cheebus, it's even the right color. If it wasn't a felony, I'd VIN-plate swap that onto the Manic Miata and end my OBD-II annoyances permanently.
I hear you... I am going to have to convert the Mazdaspeed I am purchasing back to the stock computer, MAF and injectors just to pass the OBD-II test as it won't pass with the Hydra. Fortunately it is good for 2 years, so while it will be a pain, it will be over by 2024 when it is 20 years old and can be registered as a classic.
If this were a normal summer and I was headed to Delaware and the car is where your profile says you are, I'd probably be your guy... Thank goodness for COVID?
GLWS, everyone needs a cheap, running Miata.
Yes they do.... I have it listed on the book of faces, so likely gone by the weekend if no one wants it here. Lots of inquiries, but no one with cash in hand yet :-)
I honestly just picked it up for the Torsen, but when I found out that the engine and transmission were fine, got the car running as it was a perfect opportunity to swap our 1.6 Automatic rust free NA over to the powerful 1.8, manual transmission and Torsen diff.
But that seems pretty underwhelming now that I am picking up an FM engine built Mazdaspeed Miata with 305 HP at the rear wheels..........

My car is in Delaware. His car (the for sale one) is likely in Frederick, MD, based on his profile.
Speaking of which, if you do come to Delaware, look me up.

Likely next summer at this point. Will do.
I ran the compression numbers on the engine as I have had a few inquiries to part it out. Engine was 180-190 in all cylinders, so the motor is in good shape. There was oil in two of the sparkplug holes, so the valve cover needs to be resealed and I would definitely do the timing belt and water pump before I would use this in my car, but the engine seems to be good and it also has a header on it.
I have buyer for the Torsen and axles, but won't part it out yet as I would prefer to sell in in one sale, but if someone needs an engine, I'll pull it and then continue to part it out.
The other option is I pull the motor and transmission and sell it as a rolling shell. Anyone want a roller for $200?
