E-type anyone?

it's a good thing I have too many projects, that's too far away... and Sleepywife doesn't like E-Types

 I saw that the other day.  I really want to do bad things to it.  

I hope that goes to a good home (i.e. someone here on the forum so I can follow the build thread).

It is a 2 + 2 which always looked out of proportion to me. But on the other hand they are worth less, and that is the body you need to make a convertible out of.

I tried to convince someone into making it into GLTC car... 2+2 is probably easier to cage?

The +2 is what is keeping the price low.

Even then, IF the "no rust" claim is  true, then this looks like a viable project for someone who is looking to spend another 50k to DIY the build.

I have yet to build one, but since one is looming on the project horizon, I have been researching how they go together. (The one heading my wa is ALL apart). Best way I can describe the manufacture assembly  philosopy is "Ship in a bottle manufacturing". The Brits were  good at  making very pretty cars, but not good at making pretty good cars.

Yeah, the +2 is gonna reduce the ask. And the sell. The problem with the 2+2's is the proportions are berkeleyed up. Malcom's design was a two seater and when BL added the rear seat with the attendant bulge in the roof, the car ended looking like it was bent at the junction of the bonnet and windscreen. Doesn't show so much in pictures but IRL, they look stupid.

And then, the seller of this car didn't make the effort to clean things up for the title picture. WTF? It's a barn find, we get that. A BF he's looking to get a fair sum of money for and he can't take the time to take the stack of cardboard off the roof? Stupid is as stupid does...

Thank God it's a 2+2.

I know, it just seems like a stupid sales approach to show how berkeleyed up they managed their "classic car" E36 M3. It rolls, so roll it out, hose it off and take a leaf blower to the interior. It will show much better than states in those pictures. Makes no sense...

Awesome start and 85k away from being a good 50k car. 

The looks are unfortunate, but, for us tall folk, it's about the only way we'll fit in it.

I agree, the greenhouse on those cars looks awful.
