The GRM RallyX Impreza (http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/2000-subaru-impreza-wagon/) needs a new home. I bought it with the intention to try rallycross and maybe get back into autox. Just over a year later, it still hasn’t seen dirt in anger, so it’s time to go to a new owner that will more fully appreciate it. It’s a great handling car and a lot of fun, but it’s time for me to move on.

Since purchase, I replaced the steering rack boots, repaired the center console cover, replaced the hatch struts, and put in a new stereo head unit. It was in a minor fender bender that creased the right front fender. I pounded out the dent, smoothed it out with a little filler, and painted it with color matched paint.

In December, an idler pulley seized and threw the timing belt, bending 8 valves (http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/200x-classifieds/ex-grm-rallyx-impreza-looking-for-a-new-home-and-some-engine-tlc/96514/page1/). A reputable local Subaru shop handled the repair, replacing the valves. They said the engine looked great and should be good for another 100k. While the engine was out, they replaced the clutch, timing belt, water pump, power steering pump, and did a full idler kit. They also replaced the shift knuckle, so the shifter is nice and tight again.

The engine runs great and has given no problems until recently when the power steering pump developed a leak. It is going back into the shop on Friday to get fixed and the car will be delivered leak-free.

See link for pics -- https://goo.gl/photos/a3AryiN7FX9Myt167. Exterior shots are posted. Interior shots will be posted over the next couple of days. Let me know if you want any specific pics or info. There is surface rust on some suspension parts but none of the usual rust belt cancer.

I want it real bad. I'm not due for a new winter/crosser until late winter 2016. If my Volvo sells soon I'll be in touch.

Interior pictures are up. I'll take some engine pics after the p/s pump gets fixed. Let me know if you want any specific pics or info. It's still my DD, so the mileage will continue to increase.

The power steering pump leak is fixed. It turned out to be a leaking o-ring on the reservoir. The o-ring was replaced and it appears to be leak-free. It's ready for a new owner!

A fly-and-drive would be appropriate. This car likes to change states with each new owner. I went to Michigan with my father last year to pick it up. And picking up a new car is always a good excuse for a road trip!

It looks like you're in the Boston area. I have friends in that area... maybe a delivery arrangement would work. :)

I've added some upper engine pics to the album -- https://goo.gl/photos/a3AryiN7FX9Myt167. I still need to remove the skid plate and take some pics from underneath.

I cross-posted this for you on a couple of Ontario forums. You are not that far and rust-free Subaru's of that era are rare up here.

Thanks for the cross-post! I once bought a BMW 1600-2 near Markdale...

I pulled off the skid plate and took some pics from underneath. (See album for additional pics -- https://goo.gl/photos/a3AryiN7FX9Myt167.) I had to clean off the power steering fluid from the earlier leak, but it looks like that is fixed. One of the exhaust heat shields was rattling, so I spent a few minutes trying to find the source and stop the rattle. Things like that make me crazy, so hopefully the noise is gone.
