After gifting the Saabaru to my BIL he gave it back and I fixed everything and ran a couple DST rallies with it. Then, since Mrs. P3PPY and I use it as a blue storage shed, it has taken on some pretty strong odors, as I've detailed in another thread. All I can think to do is completely rip out the interior. That's a really drastic step that makes the car virtually unsellable, though it may already be unsellable due to the smell. If I do that, it will pretty much become my dedicated race car, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but at this life stage with family and with more schooling coming up, it's hard to justify and it would probably rot away far more than it would be run in events.
In any event, before taking that leap, does anyone want to own this car as it sits? And what might it be worth to you? I'd consider trades, especially truck ones, can't do projects though :/
DETAILS:
2005 Saab 9-2x (Subaru Impreza Wagon) - automatic, 2.5 non-turbo, 263k miles, 1k miles on stop leak fixing the external head gasket leak and not clogging the heater core
GOOD:
tires, glass, solid strut mounts, runs fine
BAD:
Interior smell, missing rear lower seat anyway from when fuel and brake fluid soaked it, could use new muffler, exterior has myriad scuffs and scrapes from going through the woods, rust spots on rear wheel arches
pics from today:
If only it had 1 more pedal!

Here i was googling drive time to KC. I have a friend near you I can stay with while I rip the carpet and rear seats out, lol. Does it have any kind of trailer hitch?
Interested in a project vw sand rail with a type 4 2.0 and the part of a beetle floorpan with serial number that matches the title I have?

Haha yes I am very interested BUT no time for project trades right now. I have a sad list of things I have set aside for the time being. With keeping up with things on the house, yard, and the two "regular" cars, extra fun things are at a pause. I'll update the listing to say that.
JustJim75, no trailer hitch. I looked it up once and it's only supposed to be good for like a half ton anyway so I didn't bother.
Must not have seen my Miata tow/haul pics, lol

HA! Well... that's not to say that I pay THAT great of attention to load limits! That's a huge part of the reason I refuse to put a receiver on the minivan; some day I'm going to want to haul a broken down car, and I'm great at rationalizing "it won't hurt just this once..."
I have a video in my NB1 going 100 with a Buell on a Harbor Freight trailer. And when my buddy had surgery it did a fine job hauling my riding mower and tools to his place to cut his grass.
But more on topic, I pulled a 5x8 with a Harley and my tools to Laconia NH and back to Bama with my 08 LGT wagon
Any idea what you're thinking cash?
I love these cars, I owned a manual one for a few yeas. The seats will likely clean up with just a little soap & water. I got a decent discount when I bought mine and they looked great after 10 minutes of effort.
It'd be good to check the rear strut towers for rust, if you see it in the fenders, pull the rear seats/intrior apart and take a look. GKWS
If it had 3 pedals I'd be at the pawn shop

That's a good question, Doc, I wasn't really thinking of it from that perspective, oddly.
Looking on Marketplace and KBB, people are asking from $1,500 to just under $3,000 for similar cars.
What I'm testing the waters with is if someone out in GRM Land has their own reasons they'd be willing to pay or trade something close to FMV for the car, faults notwithstanding (e.g. they have no sense of smell nor shame, or they would strip out the interior anyway, etc.). And if not, it isn't really costing me that much to keep it, and I'll just go from there.
FWIW I am still in the process of trying to deodorize it. I called Odoban today and ordered what they recommended. It's been getting incrementally better, but now it smells more like the old underlying mechanical odors + faint chicken poop. If I find something works wonders then I'll rethink all this. Again, I like the car and I want to RallyCross it, but I just don't want to drive it as t sits.
