I have a set of Wisconsin Autosport Group (http://www.w-a-g.org/) legal studded ice racing tires. This set would also be legal with Central Wisconsin Sports Car Club and Fox Valley Sports Car Club.
They are 17" for today's modern cars (back in the day we used 13" Menard's studs with Honda's and VW's).
Originally they were used on an evo, but I used them last winter on my e36 BMW 325i. 3 hold air all season, the 4th needs to be topped off every week. I just put 50 psi in the night before and your good to go.
Studs have been sharpened, but aren't perfectly sharp. Resharpening them would make you even faster.
I can't guarantee you'll get your picture in Grassroots Motorsports, BUT buying this set of tires will help your odds!
$300 and you pick them up NW of Chicago (near Elgin). I paid $400 for them 12 months ago, so $300 is a good deal. Wheels not included.
