Moving on from RallyCross into Stage Rally much earlier than I anticipated, so I have to let this amazing car go. I purchased this from LofiAndy in spring 2022 in Florida, drove back to Michigan and proceeded to modify the vehicle for SCCA RallyCross, though I only competed in 1 event with it, build details are below.

It’s a pretty simple formula, added Koni coilover sleeves to increase ride height just enough to fit 14” rallycross tires or thicker 15” winter tires. Very light trimming to the OEM fender lines as well; I checked this all with the tires installed and no springs at full compression and full droop.  I also added a Jackson Racing Header to replace the crappy 99 manifold, NOTE: there is a Check Engine Light due to this (the EGR line was welded shut on this manifold so I did not connect this), but it pulls even better now.  Other changes are the Racing Beat intake w/ UNI filter (ATV and sXs guys use this in the dirt with no issue, I noticed no problems with dirt/dust but it needs to be monitored).

TLDR: It’s a NB miata that you can RallyCross, but you could easily lower it for tarmac again with the coilovers, what else do you need to know?

  • Soft Top has a leak, it needs the retainer rails installed, they are missing
  • OEM seats are foamectomie’d quite aggressively to fit a tall person w/ helmet
  • Alignment needed - I did NOT do this, as I wanted to leave it up to the buyer to set the final ride heights and then perform an alignment
  • OEM front lip removed to protect during RallyCross, I still have it and it will be included.
  • Body is straight with minimal dents, some scratches, see videos. Its a 1999 miata with 140k miles, typical. NO RUST!

It was a great car when I had it.  Looks to have only been improved upon from there.  Glws!

I wish I could keep it! It's so much fun in the dirt and on pavement, truly a great multipurpose car. Miata dynamics are even better on low-mu.

I 100% vouch for this car, I've seen it, driven it, and ridden in it, and it really is very nice. Handles well, rides well, looks fantastic. The kind of condition I love a car to be in. Cleans up and looks great, but not so perfect that your paranoid to use it. The perfect GRM car. Seriously if Kevan was selling a car that I was looking for, I would buy it unseen. He takes great care of his stuff, and things only improve under his ownership. (Not that it wasn't a great car when he got it, it was, and still is). I would confidently have my mom drive this and not worry about her making it wherever she's going.
