Detroit IAAI
I kinda like it.
You and I must have seen this within half an hour of each other, I sent it to some friends last night haha. It looks pretty good..
I think that is/was the shop truck for a BMW salvage yard in New Baltimore MI. Dude had all kinds of stuff, probably 25+ ads on Detroit CL at any given time.

IDK, says runs and drives and clear title. all the pix are in front of his business. location says offsite, Marine City MI. i have his number from buying parts a few years ago.
five eight six two four four ninety-five ninety-six

For $100 non refundable he gets to run the car through two weeks of auction at a set reserve of his choosing. He doesn't even have to move the car or take time from his work day and he doesn't have to answer questions.
Does the ad say it runs?
Good way to sell something in a binding fashion (eBay is not binding) that you might not really want people touching/looking/inspecting before they buy.
That's hawt! I'm wondering where the fuel tank is. I know it's a saddle tank, but it looks like the bed should interfere.
Well, the seller has a pretty high opinion of this car... It seems to have failed to meet the reserve yesterday. Since I had the car saved in my account, IAA just sent me an email letting me know the car can now be bought with a "buy-it-now" price, which is....
but wait. there's more...with IAA fees to a public buyer that $11,000 becomes...
$12,707.28 with $700 being Michigan sales tax but even so, a $12,000 purchase.

That is insane
In reply to John Welsh :
Reminds me of the completely rotted out, non-running 250k mile GC Impreza 2.5RS I saw on IAAI. I laughed that the prebid was already around $1k and added it to my watchlist to see what it sold for. I forgot about it but it must not have sold because it popped up a few days later with a BIN of $4000.
In reply to iansane :
Not only $11k/$12k but you can't see or inspect the car before purchase. And, if you do purchase, it's a binding purchase. If you get it and the floors are rusted out, the answer is going to be, "well, you did buy it from a salvage auction."
The BIN price will be there until 24 hours before next weeks Thursday auction. There might be a strategy there of not really expecting someone to pay the BIN price but implying a high value. Now, if the then high bid ends at $6k the seller can accept that $6k at his discression and the buyer gets a "deal" off the percieved vlaue of $11k.

I'm not sure how high the bidding went last week and did not meet reserve but I checked in on this today and with just under 3 days to go, the pre-bid number is already $5k. Much to my surprise. I think $11k is insane and $5k bid becomes $6,236 after private buyer fees which included $353 in Michigan sales tax
As a ray of hope that not all has gone crazy in the market...
Also, increased confidence that P. T. Barnum may not always be right...
This e30 Pickup has still failed to meet the reserve. Still could be yours if you want to separate yourself with $11k/$12k... https://www.iaai.com/VehicleDetails?itemid=43314705&RowNumber=1
IAAI is not the place to sell oddities like this...
BAT or such for this...
but nobody is gonna pay $11K.. BAT or IAAI...
In reply to billstewartx :
I remember when BAT was started and named, due to needing to Bring A Trailer to pick up an affordable project car... times sure have changed.
'Course if this owner moved the decimal place to where it belonged, it would have qualified. They would definitely turn it down today, no matter the asking price.
