Shared in enablers unanimous but figured it deserved a post here as well.

Somehow the idea of "wooden chassis" and "stored outside" doesn't bode well...

That was pretty much my thought as well - IIRC they were using some kind of marine-type plywood, but even that will likely have rotted by now.

Plus, a rather expensive (and IIRC, rare) part is pretty obviously missing. Not sure you can even find the rear window anymore.

I know these switched from a plywood chassis to a steel chassis at some point in the late 60's, but I don't know the exact year. The steel chassis is obviously prone to rust, and probably less collectible than the plywood cars, but also probably easier to repair.

I love it ,  I hope someone here gets it ,

I would think the rear window is available from the plastic window companies ,

what motors did they use ?

BMC, and some Volvo - depends on the model.j

Drivetrain is probably not an issue, the rest, well...

I'm thinking maybe you could drop that body over a Spitfire frame or something.

"How much you're going to pay me to cart this away?"

Especially as it apparently has no title either.

I restored a Marcos 1600gt for a customer a while back.

They're weird but fun and at this stage, can be a mix of parts.

His was a 1600gt body with a Ford Kent 1600 in it but when we went to install the headlight lenses, they wouldn't fit.

It had the bonnet from a later, Volvo engined car on it.

Most of the bits are still available and the Marcos parts supplier was able to get us everything we needed, even a new wiring harness.

By the look of it, that is a wooden chassis, and it's obviously toast.  Look at the interior pic.  Lot's of delaminated wood laying around.  Look at the inside of the trans tunnel.  Looks like cracking delaminating wood on the sides with a metal cross brace bolted to the sides in the forward of the pic.

And look at this pic of a wooden chassis, looks the same layout

I think it would be cool sideways on a wall but I bet it would be just as much work to make it structurally sound to do that as it would to restore. Bet it flexes a...bit.

Wow. I knew those were a "wooden chassis" but I didn't realize it was all wood! I assumed it was some kind of mishmash of wood and metal. Wild.
