Ah for the days when a Ferrari came with 14" wheels....

When we bought our Ferrari 308 GT4, it wore 10-year-old Cooper tires. While perhaps an odd (and cheap) choice for a Ferrari, it was a bit down our list of things to fix.
A call from Michelin asking if they could feature our car in its booth during The Amelia weekend–both at our Kickoff as well as the big show itself–changed that urgency.
To prepare for the big weekend, we ordered a set of the proper, original tires: Michelin’s timeless XWX in the correct 205/70VR14 size. We quickly got them mounted.
The Ferrari, immediately, looked right.
Getting the car off cheap, 10-year-old tires transformed the driving experience, too–a more comfortable ride, sharper handling and less road noise.
We always preach that fresh and correct tires make a big difference. Once again, we were reminded how important this advice is.
Have a different older car? Michelin can likely help you, too. The Michelin Classic lineup ranges from the late 1930s through the earlier days of the 21st century. The compounds and constructions might use the latest technology, but the look will be right.
Both Tire Rack and Coker Tire carry the line, with our model retailing for about $400 apiece.
