I don't think that's an actual R model. Small wheels/brakes. Older dash design and it's a 4.0, not a 4.2. Maybe I'm wrong though. I think those NA 4.0s were 300hp?

yeah looking at it more I think you might be right. Odd that it 'looks' like there are the R badges on both front fenders in some pics and they appear to be missing in other pics...
Thats an "R" badge on the rear decklid:
Somebody could have just put the sticker there... definately ask for pics under the hood before driving out there.
I asked for a pic of the engine. There's no body damage that is super clear though, so I bet either the engine or the trans is the real reason this car is being parted.

Probably nothing will come of it, but lately I've been dreaming about a superchargered Jaaag engine powering my TR4. I absolutely love the power delivery of the lump in my XJR.
Well nothing is impossible, but I can tell you that you have a reasonable chance of getting that LS up and running with the stock computer and working in your TR4 verse trying to get that Jaguar engine and transmission to work in your TR4. I am no expert but imagine that getting the stock computer to ignore all the missing inputs (ABS, no Airbags, etc...) would be hell to get it running. We just put an LT1 in an MGB with fuel injection and the stock computer. Easy as it gets, had the wiring harness stripped down and the stock computer reprogrammed to eliminate all the nannies and it runs great. I can also tell you that the LT1 makes less power than your LS and this MGB is an absolute rocket, so I don't think you will be disappointed in the power delivery in your 2000 pound TR.
