Not only want, but kinda need!

i only need about a 40 mile range, but would have to get to 55 for a 10 mile stretch. Don’t know it it could be modded to do either, but I’d like to try!

I could make it to work and back two days in a row between charges with that.  Still don’t need it.

How far did it go when it was brand new ?

and is the 40 miles with headlights on coming home from work ?

And before anyone misunderstands me, I know I=E/R and E=P/I and the lack of efficiency without a superconductor, so I’m not hopping  on the popular bandwagon that electric cars will save the world. (Hint... they won’t)

But I’ve always thought they were a really cool novelty, since I first started learning about them in the late 60’s, early 70’s. And one could be used to save a little money, if ya didn’t have to invest more than you’ll ever save. (Hint... one of their problems)

I don’t know anything about them, on the first question.

I assume the second question would be for me, and yes. But there are many proven ways to extend range and such. My biggest hurdle would be the top speed limitations, and on a budget.

Cheaper than a golf kart.

That be a great deal... at half that price. Or less. With good shopping skills a used golf cart can be had for under a grand. And any of them are only green in a pc way!  (I assume that’s what ya meant as well)

my friend that worked at Think cars in Norway said the "Holy Grail"  for electric cars they were designing was 75 mile range ,  That was in some USA regulation for  smog credits or something like that , this was 10 years ago ,

Later Ford bought Think cars......mostly for the credits !

Has anyone put an EV on its side during the autocross portion of the challenge yet?

Legally this is a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle.

You can't mod it to go faster for use on public roads.... legally.. and in reality it's a Chinese made EV that hasn't passed proper crash testing.. i'm not sure you want to.

I have a friend that had a couple of the Citicars that were built in Sebring back in the mid 70's.  He used it for his commute and swore by the electric power. He also has had a Gullwing Benz, a '28 RR Ghost a Ferrari and some other cool stuff so he isn't some kind of early tree hugger, lol.

As for this thing, I think I'd take a golfcart that I can haul tires around at the track with.

Yep. I know the legalities of the low speed only. But I don’t live in the Villages. And hopefully will never desire to.

But I do live where the rules are not quite as severe as, say, komiefornia.

I only said IF it could go 55...

I’ve driven a lot of stuff ‘round on back roads that would scare normal folks, but I always know the limitations of them.

Course im old now, and like my ac, quiet interior, and good tunes (without doing more damage to my ears.
