Do you have kids racing? Do they have any road course experience?
Many young kids going up through the racing ranks do not have ANY road course experience (left, right, stop, go, or even racing in the rain). That ends up being a weakness if they make it to pro ranks. Having a year in a mid-pack road course car and running it higher up the charts than it should be run is good experience. [Yes, it's better to have a mid-pack car when judging the skills of the driver.] Questions? I'm a 30+ year driving coach and past US champion.
Or have you always wanted to race? These are easy cars to race and very easy to maintain (IF YOU HAVE BASIC AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SKILLS). If you have never worked on a call - you better bring a friend who is a mechanic.
