Not one, not two, but three high-quality racing Saturns for sale here. Super reliable, easy on consumables, and as fast as a Saturn can be. Many podiums, including at least one overall win that I know of.

2 champs and an ITA

Seller is a friend of mine. I've driven both Champs back when they were Chumps. Here's how it went (BeaveRun 2011 for reference):

  • Start day 1 on sticker tires and new pads/rotors.
  • Win overall, get 5 lap penalty for Day 2.
  • Replace front rotors, inspect front pads
  • Inspect rear pads/rotors
  • Swap tires front to rear.
  • Bleed brakes.
  • Change oil and filter.
  • Boom, ready for day 2.
  • Day 2, finish 2nd, on lead lap.

Podiums at MIS and TWS, 8th at Road America (running 5th with 30 minutes to go, when wheel stud failure led to front left wheel taking it's own line through a turn), I don't remember where we finished at Watkins Glen.  After our MIS teamwork clinic, ChumpCar instituted a "no bump drafting" rule.

Be still my beating heart.

I'm glad I don't have that kind of money laying around.

I miss the good old Chumpcar days when cars like these Saturns could be competitive overall. One of these would be a lot of fun for track day things at Gingerman or Waterford Hills.

I probably shouldn't be considering selling one of the Mazdas to buy a Saturn racecar but...

at Road America, we ran 3:01-ish.  there was an SC400 down pit lane from us that was running 2:50-ish, gapping us by eleven seconds per lap.  I watched them fuel up every hour, 20 gallons.  the Art Car was almost perfect for a 4 driver rotation in a 7 hour race.  it would burn 12 gallons in 1:45 plus or minus.  so yeah, they were killing us on track, but we made up a ton in reduced pit stops.

if we sell the Childo before he sells the Saturns, i might do something i shouldn't.

That's awesome, and a perfect example of why I love grassroots endurance racing!
