Looks like a time capsule... I don't see any description text - where do you see the "non-running" part? Is that the "N/R" on the window? Or could it mean "no reserve"?
In reply to Ian F (Forum Supporter) :
N/R on the window means non-running. R/m means runs and moves. They never have any details or description, just a couple inspection days where you can check them out before the auction.
Could be something as simple as the batteries are dead and their jump box isn't powerful enough to get it started.
In reply to Indy - Guy :
It's very tempting but I'll be out of town this weekend so I won't even be able to go see how much it sells for.
Buy non running and upon winning sign up for Good Sam or AAA RV towing service. Have it towed to the Evan side yard and you'll be in the Air BnB business at least for this season. From those profits, get it running. It already says Bed & Breakfast on the header.
Or, tow it to Culberson Acres and given its setting and proximity to all things OSU, this could be a crazy high priced AirBNB.
In reply to spitfirebill :
Same. Even if it runs, the ~500 miles from the auction location to my house would be at least $600 in diesel, assuming about 5 MPG. This is completely ignoring the fact I have no place to park it. It's too long to fit in either of my driveways.
Fun to dream, tho... in a way, the "vintage" interior would give one free reign to do a gut-renovation.
In reply to John Welsh :
My experience with Good Sam is that unlike AAA, they won't just tow it max distance to wherever you want. They will tow to the closest listed repair facility. It does discount the towing quite a bit, but it's not the free-for-all that AAA can be.
FYI it looks like there may be some water damage to the ceiling just behind the cab, from the way it's sagging down in the middle. The rest of the interior looks really well kept though.
In reply to EvanB :
I may have to go over Friday morning and check this out; as well as the pop-up camper.
I want to buy that thing, fix it up, sell off my worldly possessions and wander around the country until I run out of money.
