This was on the "book of faces". My buddy went and checked it out today.
He didn't buy it because the cage was not safe for him.
I can tell you that the parts alone are worth way more than the asking price.
I don't want it because all my cars need to be mid-engine. But, appears to be a hell of a deal for a GRMer with tools.
I'd put it on the street.

Would the cage pass Tech?

Tech for what? It has an SCCA logbook and was race in 2016, so I'd say it'll pass tech at most series.

When I saw the thread title I thought you might be selling your beetle and I was about to crack open the piggy bank. Was disappointed when I opened the thread! 
The problem my buddy had with the cage was when he sat in it there were bars right next to his head. But he is 6'6". Somebody smaller may have no issue.
This thing looks like a barrel of fun.
