I've dreamed of having a Europa since I was 10. It was really sad making the decision to pass this on.

But Travis exuded excitement and enthusiasm from the minute I arrived. Seeing the Europa sitting in his driveway as part of his stable of tremendously cool cars gave me great joy. I'm really excited to see what he may do with it, and look forward to helping him accomplish his goals.

Plus, I got to touch the Rice Rod!

Best of luck, Travis!  Makes us all proud!

After reading through many Europa restorations, especially the ones here, I bought a 1:18 Kyosho die cast JPS Europa and have it on a shelf.  I "technically own" a Europa; I didn't have to spend huge money restoring one; and it still doesn't run.

I can help with any SketchUppery to visualize concepts on this thing.  There is a good SketchUp model of the Europa in SketchUp that I have already played with for Paul's vision.  I heard you asking roadster questions so I've already cut the roof off Paul's concept.   I was skeptical but it looks pretty cool.

I just want everyone to know I think about this project almost every day. nocones, I use SW at work and would love some help with SketchUp. Which model in 3DWarehouse were you using? If I have free time I may start measuring the "chunk of drivetrain" soon and see how badly it doesn't fit.

Just restore it already! 95% of all parts are available new or easily found. The 5% not available are not really needed.

I started with this one

https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/c88ad4c8e71c545dd093c6657d887c6a/1973-Lotus-Europa-Twin-Cam-Special

I sadly don't have a lotus shell so I couldn't compare the dimensions.  (I do have access to one for measuring though).

Let me know what the drivetrain dimensions are.

If you break the curse I will bring the LMP360 down to your house and we can play cars together (probably at an autox or Trackday depending on what the Europa is built for).

Go take current pics of it.

The shame from having no path to get to it and needing to take the boxes of crap off of it will help you at least make progress.

Then, start writing a list on a whiteboard.  Find something simple to do and do it.  Keep going.  Once a week is enough to get the car done eventually.

Someone upstairs is listening. This morning I took my Miata to the mountains and followed a random group of sports cars including a Porsche GT3RS and...a Lotus Evora 400. It was crazy fast and sounded amazing. Feeling inspired and I can only imagine what it's like with 2/3 the weight, 3/4 the hp, and 1/2 the craftsmanship.

Fer real though, wvumtnbkr has a good process, just get a white board or some cardboard and start listing stuff to do.

We know you have a rough idea for what you want to do because of the Roll-Ovalon, so what are the next steps?

I believe that would mean 2 of the coolest cars that ever passed through my hands would be going head-to-head!
