It is a production vehicle.
It's not a kit car.
It's available in a market available to anyonne.
If you get it for $2k, why wouldn't it be legal?

because it's not 4 wheeled
In reply to Patrick (Forum Supporter) :
Does it say somewhere in the rules it has to have 4 wheels? (Honest. I've never read the whole thing)
In reply to Mndsm :
"Any four-wheeled, production-based vehicle that was originally sold as a passenger vehicle is allowed."
Though it doesn't explicitly state it had to be produced with 4-wheels. So I think a valid argument could be presented to allow it with a 4-wheel configuration.
In reply to Pete Gossett (Forum Supporter) :
Find a wrecked 4-wheeler and transplant the front end and motor?

Hang a spare on the back.
Ooh I love the idea of a big continental kit hanging off the back of that thing!
