In upstate NY, those looked like that by the mid 1980s. So, by that standard, they're near mint.
I had a '78 wagon and loved it. I can't quite see $2,500 there though. It would make a great Gambler 500 rig at about 1/2 the price.
When I clicked the link, underneath that ad 'Today's pick' showed me this Chevrolet Blazer also asking $2,500.
