Shopping for a car for my teenager...things were going great until SWMBO said "must be automatic transmission." Way too many hours perusing marketplace recently. These are pretty rare these days...you people (ok, us people) like stuff like this:
The Sparco wheels do a lot for this car. No other details provided. Paint looks much worse in other pictures (faded to bare metal on the hood/fender).
This one looks pretty nice as well. Unfortunately, the seller bought had it shipped after purchase and the PO neglected to refill the transmission oil. After 100 miles it went "boom." I'm guessing those transmissions aren't too easy to find, but it might be a fun project for someone.

If 86 Quattro trans is the same I know where to get one.
I love me a good audi 90. They're real fun cars.

I think that would have had a locking center diff where the 90's didn't?

I'm not very sure, but...RealOEM says the quattro USA 80/90 had the same transmission from 88-92. I'm guessing the 86 quattro is different.

80/90 had 01A transmissions. That is the generic 5 speed that VWAG used after 1989ish. They put them in all sorts of cars until 2010ish but the hard part is finding one with a 4.11 final drive.
1986 would be an 016, a much larger and heavier trans. You could probably swap one in with a lot of 4000 quattro parts, but it'd be ALL of them including the knuckles. A 4000 would have 4.11 final drive and a 5000 would have 3.89, I think.
I know someone who had a stash of B3 01As.
