Looking for a running Miata that maybe needs some work that I can turn into a HPDE/autocross car. Body can be rough, and rust is perfectly fine as long as it's not consumed by it. Must have a clear title as I will most likely be driving to events. Something in the $1500 or less range.

You might want to join the group at www.cicenet.net, they're down more in the Champaign/Bloomington/Peoria area, but they have a pretty active forum. Post a wanted ad there & if anyone knows of a cheap Miata in the area you'll hear about it.
Edit: You're not that far from Indy, you might want to check out this one listed over in the $2017 classifieds.
Cicenet isn't as active as it used to be. Still active, but not as much. Although maybe thats just the winter.
I'll keep an eye out--I thought there was one in Arlington Heights or Palatine that I saw recently, but now I can't find it.
