My 948 cc RWA Midget (AKA the Little Red Rat) is now running and driveable.

I built it from a parts car that I bought cheap just for the 1275 engine (which is going in my A35 racer). It seemed a shame to cut it up, but it's really just a pile of unwanted bits and pieces. Such as a stock 948 saloon engine (35 HP), a crappy ribcage trans (weak 2nd gear syncro), some moth-eaten seats, a very unwanted DGV carb, a muffler that didn't fit the racecar (for Lime Rock), a top I've been storing for 20 years, a steering wheel I found on junk day, some skinny spare wheels and so forth.

Tractor Supply paint was applied using several methods.........none of them the correct way.

It's a 20-footer, but runs quite nice (I've driven it around the neighborhood).

Still working on front bumper, some wiring, carpets, trunk hinge, etc.

I have a fair amount of sweat-equity in it......but very little cash outlay.

I think most people who race a specific car end up with loads of parts that are of no use for racing but would be just fine for a street car. I like what you've done with all the extra parts. I've raced a Datsun 1200 for the last 25 years and have collection of parts that would make a good street car, nice to see someone make use of perfectly good parts that would otherwise just sit in the corner of the garage.

I do the same with my old race parts, they find their way into my sons' street Spitfires. I tell my wife I'm recycling but doesn't buy it.
