"Price available upon inquiry."  In other words, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it."  They are beautiful cars, that's a good color for them, and if the indicated 12k miles are accurate it hopefully doesn't suffer from the hidden rust issues those cars always face.

I have driven the CSL version of this car and they were undervalued for so long, considering what great cars they are. I am afraid the values have gone up a bit.

I agree with all you say - unless its been dry stored all the time its been off the road, and assuming its from a snow (salt) free state in your fine country, the evil tin worm will be in all the usual places. I don't like the look of the scuttle (bulkhead) as a start. I owned a dark blue version of this, loved it - but on being posted overseas sold it to a relative who scrapped the car in the eighties after the body shop told her it was too far gone. Betcha the body shop was happy to "scrap" it. I'm still regretting that sale.

further to my earlier post, just had a look at the dealer's site and there appears to be a significant rust issue with this car - both on the floor pan and some of the panels. That is just what you can see. Location Indianopolis would explain the rust if that is where the car originates from. Dammed shame.

Hello all,

I'm the one who bought this car and I couldn't be happier. It turns out this was a California titled car, it still has a CA tag on it and spent most of its life there, prior to it arriving to Indianapolis for around 2-3 years. While there are a few superficial rust issues here and there, it's not quite as significant as I had thought and have seen much worse with these E9's. Two floor pans, one small patch repair to one shock tower and the usual bottom quarters...etc. This is in fact a largely original, complete and relatively solid car. I'm having the engine fully rebuilt right now. This was a bargain when compared to the now sky high prices being asked for others, not quite as complete. This is a good running and driving car but I'm doing a full restoration. I had the pleasure of taking it for a 5 hour run on the highway, it behaved rather nicely.
