Dad had a light blue 61 Dart 2-door, light blue on light blue. Slant-6 w/3-on-the-tree. Lower trim model as it didn't have the trunk mounted tail light, only the very small lower tail lights. Grew up with it. I was 3 when he bought it new and was around 13 when the junk yard drove it away. I was a bit upset when it went away, was hoping for it to be handed down to me. Even more irritated when a couple years later he drug home a 63 Plymouth w/318 & 3-speed manual. A former military staff car that his friend owned and son beat to crap. Bought it to keep his friends son out of trouble. Came with a glove box full of tickets, most fix-it tickets. I tinkered with it for a while but wasn't allowed to get it running until all the other things wrong were fixed and I had zero budget. So it went to the scrap yard too. Thought that 318 would go nice in the 61 if dad would have let me keep it. Although he was a (aircraft) mechanic, He wasn't a car guy and did everything he could to discourage it from me. Although he did teach me mechanics.
