Since my initial post I got the engine out and halfway through a refurb...Im amazed. The crank was polished by the tongues of angles! Its a gear drive cam...with no wear, steel main caps, Cosworth rods & pistons, All surfaces within stock spec! Due to the water damage, Ill be needing pistons due to the boring out of the corrosion.
I rebuilt the brakes and went through the suspension, and repacked the bearings. All seems good. Now Im just waiting on the fuel cell and plumbing for the fire bottle. I even managed to get it pushed out for a bath in between snows.
Lastly, I completed the Skip Barbour 3 Day racing school at Road Atlanta. They are a great bunch of guys.
