I am finally getting to the Spitsix and about to attach the carbs to the intake. I am getting opposite instructions on which way to place the carb to intake gasket set. Instruction sheets, catalogs and workshop manual either show them either way or not at all. Which way is correct? The left or the right

Thanks - Scott

Sorry are you talking about the paper gasket?

The right pic is correct - to allow access to the deceleration bypass valve. Started up first shot after priming the fuel pump!

So what is the issue with the left side?

I have SU's so Strom are a little foreign to me.

my understanding is that it would block off the opening for the deceleration bypass valve.

Hole punch?

There are a total of 4 holes on the flange, 2 for mounting and what appears to be 2 vacuum at 2 o'clock and 7 o'clock. What I have been told is that the 2 o'clock hole that can be seen with the gasket positioned like the left carb in the pic is not a vacuum port. The 7 o'clock opening is for the deceleration bypass valve. So the gasket placement on the right carb is correct.

I need to step up to SU's like you! Thanks
