An interview with Momi about his X1/9. http://www.network54.com/Forum/12159/message/1219205321/An+interview%2C+a+car+and+it%27s+man++%26lt%3BGENERAL+WARNING%26gt%3B

He states what are the most important aspect of any performance car, the chassis and brakes. There is no solid foundation for a performance car if the chassis and brakes are poor to begin with. One can always add power. Like the Wright Brothers who figured how to make powered flight happen, it was pretty much a problem of control, not power. This is a very basic item many car folks don't appreciate or understand well which I suspect is why most car folks focus on the engine and looks then forget the rest.

And, a video of what a "cheap heap FIAT/Bertone x1/9" is capable of doing when this chassis is allowed to be what it could be: http://video.google.com:80/videoplay?docid=4039536226454557146&q=ISRAEL%27S+FASTEST

680hp, 10 second quarter mile, $2795 initial investment and $140,000 approximate investment just to develop it (meaning trying things, breaking them and having to try something else)

Still it is an impressive piece of work, too bad it is in Israel as we'll likely never see it in person:

That's what I'm talking about! I guess anything could go fast if you through enough money at it but the thing I like about this is that the car is STILL an X1/9. It remains true to its heritage and style. It is not ricey and it kicks some tail. i have followed this car for a long time and there are videos on the net showing him beating motorcycles in a drag, amazing!
