In the old days, cars were often both. I happened across this image of Jean Bugatti, photographed here with the Bugatti Royale 'Esders' Roadster - he was the son of Ettore and designed this version of the Royale before being killed while testing a factory car at Molsheim.

Yes, that is a 14' wheelbase and a 5.25'track. They sold only 7 cars of which 6 still exist - they had wanted to make a run of 25 but it was the Depression.....

If you owned on today you could probably be happy just sitting looking at it or polishing it much less driving it.

You could chase old Blower Bentleys with that thing.

Man, that makes my '74 Caddy seem small. Wild! Thanks for sharing.

That's a giant wheelbase, but look at the overhangs, practically nonexistent. I bet the whole car isn't as long as a 1960 Caddy.

Those old tractor engines were just magnificent.  14 litres and 250 HP.  I would love to feel that sort of torque. What was idle, like 300 RPM?

Since it only has to support 1700 RPM, my back-of-the-brain guess is it would be the equivalent of about a 500 cfm carburetor.
