Pay particular attention to the timing belt and timing belt tensioner. I understand that the JH crowd convert the spring loaded tensioner to the later style fixed tensioner for a great increase in reliability (that is, a great decrease in valve to piston contact.) Better yet is to replace the pulleys with the rounded tooth ones at the same time, but now your starting to get expensive. Remember that timing belt was the reason for JH's bankruptcy.
Man. Karl, you have a nose for these things. Let me know if you find a GT. Hess is right, oil leaks and premature timing belt failure which Lotus refused to warranty are what bankrupted Jensen. Keep a good timing belt on it and the motor will last approximately forever. One JHPS member bought his car new, drives it daily and it has over 500,000 miles on it.
The 907/910 engine is pretty tough. It is basically a bottom end from a Bedford (English GM) delivery truck with one Cosworth DFV head. Yeah, they're gonna leak oil, especially at the cam towers and that plate at the back of the cams (O ring leaks.)
In reply to Karl La Follette:
Seems a solid car. I lusted after these in the day, but, alas, no money way back when. Nice roadster. Keep us posted on the progress
Hey Karl, well done. Dave Bean is the place to go for the updated oil seal kit hat fixes all the leaks from the Cam towers and cam seals.
These are great cars and are pretty quick as well as being comfortable. Great buy!

Dang, hate to see Kjell is gone. There's a story in the J-H community that he went to check out the prototype GT and decided to climb into the back 'seat' (which was even less useful than the AH 3000's or the MGB GT's). He wriggled in, sat there with is head cocked at an angle and the side of his face pressed into the headliner, then (n the vein of a true car salesman) was heard to say 'Once you get in, it's really not that uncomfortable'.
"These are great cars and are pretty quick as well as being comfortable. Great buy! "
Pretty quick is a big understatement when tuned and driven by Joe Huffaker Jr. He took the ex-Lind brothers 2-time national championship winning JH to th top of the podium in his grid at this years Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Well done on your new toy!
