Lots of great classic cars and classic racing bikes (plus classic sidecars) at the NH Vintage.

We moved into our new house the day I got back, so I haven't had time to really post these until now. I actually had to leave early (because of the move) plus Lin wasn't with me, so we didn't get as many action shots as usual. Still, some great cars. The in-car videos in the link above came out decent .

Yep!

A Falcon six with SU carbs. Car has TR front end with MG back end......and a big old Cadillac tow car too!

One of the great old "specials" from the late 50s and early 60s.

I bet the bikes are a blast to drive. Very cool mix of vehicles. Were there any Formula type cars or only sports types? I raced last weekend at Limerock but it was a regular SCCA regional event. There were 26 Miatas, different group, but still on track with me and the production race cars. I think you had loads more fun then I did.

thanks for the pics and videos.

The last year I was club racing with my Spridget, it ended getting hit front, back and both sides by the JellyBean racers. I have a street Miata and I love it, but I'd never race SpecMiata.....too rough.

We had a smallish number of open wheel cars at NH....although the old front engine classic O/W cars are neat. These days, it's tough to get enough FFs and FVs to get a really decent size group.

I'll be at Pittsbugh VIntage next (at BeaveRun) and they always combine the FVs with small bore. It's OK, but you really have to be careful since the Vees can sneek up next to you and you can't see them (even in my car). I just added a new "down-pointed" mirror yesterday in preparation.

~Here's an example~ of the small bore and O/W combined class last year at PVGP>

In reply to aeronca65t:

I saw this at Lime Rock's vintage festival last autumn. Big smile time! Nice work. Too bad it's virtually impossible to build such cars today in a real competition environment--not a one-off event--without truck loads of money.

Open wheel and prod cars in one event is tough. I used to race an F440 and from time to time they'd put us in with the Spec Racers. They couldn't see us, I remember some hairy moments.

Are you running BeaveRun and the festival too?

BTW, Limerock just extended the deadline for entry into the Fall Festival. I got accepted again and they're still looking for cars.

Not running the Lime Rock event. Got lots of stuff on my plate.

Just bought a new house....gotta sell my old one. Plus other stuff.

We're just running BeaveRun. My old car ('58 Austin A35) isn't ready yet and they already have plenty of Spridgets in the street race. Next year, I'll bring the old car to both events.

You'll need to log in to post.
