Don't do it.

Money better spent making a 1300 scream and fit a decent tranny with good ratios.

That or a twin cam engine ;)

To late already done. The title should have read "Put GT6 rearend in the Spitsix!

Changed out the 4:11 spitfire rear diff for a proper 3:27 GT6 rear - 55mph indicated on GT6 speedo, 54mph on gps all at 2700 rpm. Much nicer. I need a 5 speed!

Roger that.

I love the 411 in my GT6.

Now I do have a 5 Speed.

Off the line she is a rocket ship.

There is a 389 waiting in the garage just in case.

I rarely do highway runs in the car so not too worried.

Yeah... a 3.27 does make the car a bit lethargic off the line. But I do tend to do a lot of hwy driving, so even if/when I get an overdrive gear, it'll likely stay. I'd like to try a 3.89 or one of the Euro-market 3.63's.

My Spit 6 had a 3.27 w/ a J-Type o/d. The car would cruise at 3K RPM on the hwy doing about 80 mph. Granted, I'd be half-deaf by the time I arrived anywhere...
